Martin Kafes33 Hirth
Born in 1981 in former Czechoslovakia, he works globally.
Kafes33 is a contemporary artist whose practice bridges graffiti, graphic design, and painting. From an early age, he developed a strong inclination toward visual creation, later finding a formative influence in the graffiti scene, where he built a foundation in composition, color, and technique.
He subsequently studied graphic design, where he explored clean vector-based aesthetics. The contrast between these precise structures and the raw, gestural qualities of spray paint has become a defining element of his visual language.
After several years working as a freelance designer, Kafes33 shifted his focus toward independent artistic practice, seeking greater creative freedom. This transition marked a return to his roots in painting, working primarily with spray paint and acrylic on canvas, through which he has developed a distinctive and intuitive visual vocabulary.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including a presentation in Los Angeles featuring works created during his travels across the United States. In 2024, he was awarded first place at the Art Grand Slam award in the Public Space category for the design of a basketball court for NBA player Vít Krejčí. He has also been recognized for the “Pasta Jacket”. created for NHL player David “Pasta” Pastrňák during the Ice Hockey World Championship in the Czech Republic.
